Experience more realistic, manual crafting in Minecraft PE with the Back to Basics add-on, which introduces new methods for creating basic items like flint, water, and dyes.

The dye crafting process is now more involved. While you still collect flowers, placing one in a crafting slot yields petals. These petals must then be ground in a mortar using a pestle to create dye.





Water, previously uncraftable, can now be extracted from leaves. Placing four leaves in a Water Barrel will produce water after a short time.


The Sieve is a new device used to sift dirt, gravel, and crushed netherrack for resources like ore chunks and amethyst geodes. A Mesh is required for the Sieve to function. Crushed netherrack requires a Crimson Frame Sieve.


The Drying Rack converts rotten flesh into leather and kelp into dried kelp.


The Manual Crusher grinds cobblestone, gravel, and netherrack.


The process of making cookies has also been made more complex.
