Villagers and Illagers improved

The Villagers and Illagers Improved add-on significantly alters Minecraft gameplay by introducing new villager and illager types. New illager variants increase the challenge of encounters, requiring players to adapt to their unique abilities. Conversely, players can now hire villager guards, archers, mages, and priests for defense and assistance against these threats. New illager outposts will also generate throughout the world, providing new encounter opportunities.

Taming Villager Guards

Villager guards can be tamed using Contract items. Their combat effectiveness can be further enhanced with Strength and Speed contracts.

New Villager units

• Villager Guard, Swordsman, Archer, Crossbowman, Spearman: These basic village defenders fulfill various roles, including melee combat, ranged attacks, and tanking. Their damage, movement speed, and armor are balanced for strategic defense.
  
• Knight Villager: A heavily armored elite unit with high health, slow movement, and powerful melee attacks, designed for frontline defense.
  
• Hunter, Healer, Evocation Villagers: Specialized units with unique abilities such as hunting, healing, and summoning, providing tactical support.
  
• Villager Cavalry Units (Spearman, Swordsman, Archer): Mounted versions of the basic villagers, offering increased speed and damage for rapid response.
  
• Specialty Workers (Smith Merchant, Traveler Nitwit, Beekeeper): These villagers add economic and resource management elements to villages, offering trades and managing resources like bees and chests.
  

New Illager units

• Improved Pillagers, Vindicators, and Evokers: Standard illagers with improved AI, enabling them to open doors and better avoid threats.
  
• Armored and Elite Illagers (Knight, Basher, Executioner): Heavily armored, powerful units designed to challenge even well-defended villages.
  
• Specialized Illagers (Announcer, Vindicator Brute, Vindicator Chef): Units with unique abilities such as summoning reinforcements, blocking attacks, and even cooking food, adding complexity to raids.
