Minecraft PE 1.21.90 Beta introduces several exciting experimental changes and polish ahead of the Tricky Trials update. One of the standout additions is the Happy Ghast, a friendly and rideable variant of the traditional Ghast. This passive mob can carry up to four players at once as a flying mount—making it both a whimsical and highly practical new way to explore the skies. You can obtain a Happy Ghast by waterlogging a dried ghast for 20 minutes, which transforms it into a ghastling. Feeding snowballs to the ghastling will accelerate its growth into a fully usable mount.

Once harnessed, Happy Ghasts stay within 32 blocks of their “home” and can even carry leashed mobs during flight. They’re also equipped with a security feature—redefining their home area when certain actions happen, like mounting, unleashing, or dismounting. Players can’t breed them, but more dried ghasts can be crafted to grow additional companions. This beta also features numerous technical improvements, UI polish, and small bug fixes that help optimize gameplay across devices.
