Applied Energistics 2 (AE2) is a Minecraft mod that focuses on complex automation, storage, and crafting systems. It's designed to simplify and optimize the storage and processing of items in the game.

Key features and how it works:

• AE2 introduces the ME (Matter Energy) Network, a centralized system that manages the storage and processing of items.
  The network is powered by Applied Energistics' signature components called ME Controllers.
  
• Storage is handled through ME Drives, which hold ME Storage Cells. These cells can store various types of items and are interchangeable.
  Items are stored as data, eliminating the need for physical storage blocks.
  
• The ME Network uses channels to manage the flow of data. Each block or cable can handle a specific number of channels.
  Too many channels on a single network can lead to inefficiency or malfunctions.
  

AE2 simplifies crafting by allowing players to create crafting patterns. These patterns can be encoded and stored in the ME System.
Crafting is automated through ME Interfaces, which connect crafting components to the ME Network.

It supports automation through the use of ME Interfaces, Export Buses, and Import Buses.
Export Buses push items into the network, while Import Buses retrieve items. ME Interfaces provides the crafting recipe.

Applied Energistics 2 allows players to access their ME Network wirelessly through devices like the ME Wireless Access Point and ME Wireless Terminal.



The mod enables auto-crafting, letting players request items from the ME Network, which will automatically craft them if the necessary components are available. AE2 introduces Spatial Storage, allowing players to save entire structures or parts of their base as data that can be stored and later reassembled. Applied Energistics 2 provides security features, including the ability to set access permissions on storage components and devices.
