NeoForge is an open-source mod platform for developers and the successor of Forge. This fork was created by some of the people behind the original Forge, after disagreements within the team. It serves all the same functions as before but requires separate implementation from the modders. Many popular mods have already switched to NeoForge and made it their main focus in the development.
