Entity Culling mod employs asynchronous path-tracing to optimize Minecraft rendering by excluding the rendering of blocks and entities that are not currently visible. While Minecraft naturally avoids rendering objects located behind the player, it tends to render everything, even if obstructed by a wall. The mod takes advantage of additional CPU cores/threads to perform rapid path-tracing from the player's camera to all blocks and entities, swiftly determining their visibility status.
.
During rendering, any entities deemed not visible are skipped, similar to how entities positioned behind the player are excluded. This approach is compatible with various mods such as Sodium, Iris, and Optifine, resulting in improved frame rates, particularly in crowded areas like game server lobbies. It is noteworthy that even when using Sodium, which already incorporates "Use Entity Culling" by default, this mod can further enhance performance by being more aggressive in excluding entities.
