The FastWorkbench mod is focusing on improving the efficiency of all crafting-related functions within the Minecraft Java Edition. One of the main benefits of FastWorkbench is the significant reduction of momentary lag spikes that can occur when performing certain crafting actions, especially when shift-clicking to craft large stacks of items.

The mod utilizes a caching system for recipes. This means that once you've crafted an item, the recipe information is stored, eliminating the need for the game to recalculate it every time you attempt to craft the same item again. This reduces processing load and improves overall crafting performance.

FastWorkbench only detects changes in the crafting grid when necessary. In vanilla Minecraft, the game might re-evaluate the recipe every time anything in the crafting window changes, even if it's irrelevant to the final outcome. This optimization helps streamline the crafting process.
